Andy Glick is a Woodstock, New York-based Vegan Lifestyle Coach and a Holistic Health Counselor. Andy was certified as a Holistic Health Counselor by New York’s prestigious Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2004. He has been working since then to help people on their path to a vegan lifestyle—for their health, for the planet, and for the animals.

Andy has a broad history of life and professional experience in the fields of Veganism and Animal Rights. A former architect, Andy went vegetarian in 1982 and has been vegan since 1989.

In 1989 Andy founded the Woodstock Animal Rights Movement, or WARM, a grassroots advocacy group active in the Mid-Hudson Valley region of New York State. WARM works in multiple areas including cruelty-free product awareness, anti-hunting efforts, and educational outreach. WARM wasa member of the former group NYSCA, the New York State Coalition of Animals.

After the inception of WARM, Andy opened the WARM Store, the country’s very first Vegan, Cruelty-Free, Animal Rights store located in the heart of Woodstock. For eight years the WARM Store sold Vegan cruelty-free products and educated consumers about a more compassionate way of living. The store served as a hub for activists, attracting visitors from all over the tri-state area, and went national when their mail order service was launched.

Early on, it became apparent to Andy that not only was a Vegan lifestyle the most important thing we could do for animals, but it was also the most important thing we could do for our personal health and for the future of the planet. For two decades, Andy has been attending conferences, lectures, and workshops about veganism and plant-based diets given by the top names in the field, including Drs. McDougall, Fuhrman, Klaper, Barnard, Esselstyne, Mills, and Greger; nutritionists such as Brenda Davis and George Eisman; and leaders and visionaries like John Robbins and Howard Lyman.

Andy’s interest in veganism and his commitment to helping others led him to New York City’s Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In the Institute’s program, Andy was immersed in the scientific literature of diet and nutrition, and he was trained as a nutrition counselor, wellness authority and lifestyle coach. Andy was certified by the Institute in 2004 as a Holistic Health Counselor.

Andy has also served on the national Board of Directors of EarthSave International, an organization promoting a plant-based diet, founded by John Robbins, author of Diet for a New America.
